I have three quick words for you: Deus Ex Machina.
To keep things on the level, I have yet to read H. G. Wells’ classic novel, so he may have used the exact same device Spielberg did to bring Ray Ferrier’s nightmare to a close.
But if he did, I sure hope he did it better than they did.
