So now we’re trying to give them our type of free press, too?

Link: US military planting stories in Iraqi newspapers (Yahoo! News)
Stellar. First we say we’re ‘giving the gift of democracy’ to Iraq - which is absolutely hilarious when you spend more than three seconds looking at how our system doesn’t work for shit right now - and now the LA Times comes up with this:
US military “information operations” troops have written the articles, which are translated into Arabic and placed in Baghdad newspapers with the help of the Lincoln Group, a Washington-based defense contractor.
Nice. Very nice. It’s bad enough they’ve corrupted the press and media in our own country, but now they’re doing it to Iraq before the country can even get itself off the ground!
Easily the greatest thing I’ve read in a damn long time
